Florida
real estate: that’s a big topic, where do you start? HEAD
SOUTHWEST. Southwest Florida has so much going for it, it’s
no wonder that it’s a highly popular destination for relocation,
as well as vacation. The weather in southwest Florida is terrific
year-round, and in fact, we are just far enough south that when
most of the winter cold fronts stall over the Tampa-Sarasota area
(100 miles of north of us) that inclement weather rarely makes
it down here. Southwest Florida property is sunny nearly all year;
no wonder it’s some of the most popular florida real estate
!
Cooling seabreezes keep the barrier islands of Sanibel, Captiva
and Ft. Myers Beach cooler in the summer; cooler, in fact, than
the southern US. In winter, our daily temps average in the 70s……pure
bliss. Owning southwest Florida property gives you a pass to live
your life outdoors. The beaches here are spectacular; so is the
boating and fishing.
Our
metro area, which consists of Ft. Myers, Estero, Bonita and Cape
Coral, has really grown up in the past five years. Foodies will
thrill to the plethora of fine dining establishments: everything
from international bistros and coffee houses to beach bars and
gourmet take-out delis can be found. Sports lovers can also go
wild, by supporting The Everblades, Ft. Myers own winning pro
hockey team, enjoying year-round watersports, golf and tennis,
or taking a short drive to watch pro teams in Tampa and Miami.
Even the college teams in Florida are football powerhouses. And
if you love baseball, March will never be the same . . . Ft. Myers
is home to spring training for the much-loved Boston Red Sox and
the Minnesota Twins. Owning southwest Florida real estate makes
it impossible to ignore all the great sports around you!
Shopping is easy in Ft. Myers; all the major department stores
and discount houses are here.
The
Ft. Myers metro area has been one of the consistently fastest
growing areas in the US for several years now. Nearby Cape Coral,
which is included in this area, tends to make the fastest-growing-city
list just as often. “The Cape” used to be the main
reason for the growth, but now developers have discovered the
attributes of Ft. Myers and new communities and commercial developments
are springing up monthly. Ft. Myers, founded on the Calooshatchee
River, has now expanded east of I-75. (see
map)
RSW airport (Southwest Florida International) is in the midst
of a giant expansion, which will provide even more direct flights
to and from the area. We are already served by all the major airlines.
Both RSW and Page Field accommodate private jets. When considering
Florida real estate investments or lifestyle, I seriously urge
you to consider this terrific area.
